Do you offer a Shuttle Service?
Yes we do, please confirm with our Booking Agent for additional costs.
Do you provide safe parking facilities?
Yes, parking areas are monitored with one security personnel. Please discuss additional requests based on your event needs with our Booking.
Is parking charged for?
There are 280 secure parking bays available on site. The main entrance has 30 bays of free parking for VIP’s and the JOC Team. There is a 250 bay parkade on Sol Harris Crescent Street. The event Organiser has the option to pay for the parade bays upfront or delegates can pay on use. Overflow parking is available at Hoy Park and around the vicinity.
Could we secure a few parking bays onsite for VIP Guests?
Yes, but this will have to be arranged and confirmed with our Booking Agent prior to your Event. We will require a list of vehicle registration plates.
Can I bring my own food?
The Olive Convention Centre is a licensed venue and will provide all catering needs.
Can I bring my own beverages?
The Olive Convention Centre is a licensed venue and will provide all beverages at a separate cost to the Client. We also have a liquor license.
Can I bring in my own technical equipment?
We have basic audio, visual and lighting packages available that we can quote. However, you are welcome to bring in your own equipment or preferred supplier based on event needs.
Is your food Halaal?
Yes, we have reputable Halal caterers on request.
Is it possible to book the entire centre?
Yes this is available on request, provided that there are no confirmed events.
Do you have security onsite that will also assist on the day of the event?
We have limited daily security onsite to secure our premises only, if you require security for your event based on the size or nature of the event, then may outsource these services to your preferred supplier or speak to our Booking Agent to arrange additional security.
Do you have exhibition space?
Yes, when enquiring, please state the number of stands you require and the stand sizes you require. We will forward you the floor plans accordingly.
Can we bring in our own décor or OCC provides?
The Olive Convention Centre provides basic table décor. We have a list of preferred décor service providers should you wish to add specialised décor (available on request). You may opt to use your preferred décor service provider.
Do you arrange accommodation as well?
No, we are a Conference Centre only, however, there are many hotels in the immediate surrounding vicinity of our Convention Centre that we can refer you to. You can also check for accommodation on Booking.com
Would you be able to provide transfers to our Hotel?
Most hotels have their own Shuttle services. However, if you have booked our venue and need a referral, speak to your Booking Agent and we will gladly assist.
Is accommodation expensive?
Our vicinity is surrounded by hotels and B&B’s with ranging star gradings – It depends on the type and quality of accommodation you are looking for, and also what suits your budget.
How can I arrange for a site visit at OCC?
You can simply send us an email to info@oliveconventioncentre.co.za and a site visit meeting will be scheduled.
I have received a Quotation and I’m not sure what is Contingency.
When a booking is confirmed, a deposit is required to be paid on confirmation of your booking at OCC. The amount is refundable 7 days after the event, provided there is no outstanding balance or breakages to the Olive Convention Centre.
How early do we need to confirm bookings?
This is a tough one. Our venues get booked well in advance. Our suggestion is that when you have a confirmed date for your Event, call us and reserve a booking date as soon as possible.
What are your payment terms?
In order to book the venue for your event at Olive Convention Centre, you have to sign acceptance of the quotation and our terms & conditions and return to us. Please note that a 50% deposit is required on confirmation. The balance is payable 30 days prior to the event taking place.
Do you have a generator?
Yes, we have a standby onsite generator as back-up power – the event must go on!
